Street photography is a hobby , a time for ourselves to watch and observe the world around us and a chance for good photographers to express their eye for detail and poetically document the things we buy, sell, fetishist, consume or discard. Carlos William famously believes that the phrase 'no idea but in things' seems particularly suitable for photography. whereas painting, sculpture or music can be about something, photography must always be of something. No matter how much it tends towards abstraction, a photograph is always an image created by documenting the real world. Marelle Autio feels that us photographers need to find a place that feels like it might offer up a picture, light moves about, shadow grows and changes backdrop. He think its fascinating to watch the people move in and about living their own quirky, beautiful, funny lives as they may all come together for a moment and then just as quickly it is gone.
Vivian Marier
The way she does her portraits are really good as she captures her figure from the shopping mall reflecting weird forms of shapes overlapping on her and creating like a ghostly part of her behind very faintly. Capturing silhouette figure reflections onto a puddle surface showing the surroundings is magical to me. Vivian seems to like to snap relations of subjects in one image to make it interesting, its great how she place herself into image to darken and fit another subject which can take in place to blend with other objects and colouring. Virvian Marier seems to think carefully on her positions to where the light can be lit on people, buidings or on herself as I find its clever how she standing right in middle background quite out of focus, it's like she wants to show her emotion like to me its saying 'what is that am looking at how peculiar'. I love how the light she plotted herself is splitting her up into two different people that fits so well with buildings behind her as they're coloured matched to her split up and makes buildings look less dull. Virvian Marier may have planned to plot herself in spot where good light is hitting on her to split her up into two which could mean something to her as in communicating to viewers that she has a darkside to her personality or just that she has a dark feeling to the place she has stood , who knows.
This looks awesome where Phina Evental shoots images from shopping mall window reflections where objects she finds behind her shone onto window having a variety of contrasts of colouring which is good as these objects that is being reflected showing patches of area she's passing at that moment.
Trent Parke I will like to use as inspiration due to his depth and focus and the use of moevement to his photos where it shows like a foggy trim of light behind person to show that some action has took in place. The photographs he does are great how he focuses so much on a side of person as if subject is fascinated by something and photographer stood close to person so he can put fascination to print. The focus on the rain is remarkable as it looks quite grainy and thought about lighting around so he can have light on grounds and side walks.
Bruce Gilden I would like to take ideas from by the way he snaps reactions of peoples facial expressions when he clicks the button to their faces, which could come across quite humorous and could be important to use if used correctly but have to be photographed with careful composition and thoughts on what the subject is about and trying to communicate to the viewers. Bruce spends time and effort with his subjects interacting and communicating as he once shot a women noticeably distressed but explains to her personally why he photographed her and he charmingly said the he found her beautiful in her unique way. Bruce Gilden's street shooting style is that he shoots who he is, that he has an aggressive personality and shoots with a 28mm and a flash. He doesn't approach his subject in an aggressive manner, he's just shooting within a artistic way to flash and highlight the human drama and highlighting the fretfulness of his subjects towards him and to the street.
